Setting an Internal Message Name

The "Internal Message Name" field is used for your organization's internal purposes. This field is never communicated or shown to your supporters or the recipients of your messages.

This field serves two purposes: for sorting your .csv data for better internal organization and for tagging your supporters in NationBuilder and NeonCRM.

Sorting your .csv data:

By setting an Internal Message Name on your messages, you can use a better sorting and record-keeping system than simply using the Message Subjects. This is particularly useful for groups and organizations with a large number of campaigns and/or internal campaign tracking systems already in place.

When you download your .csv from your dashboard, a column is created for your Internal Message Names. Every supporter signature is marked according to the message or messages that they signed.

Tagging supporters in NationBuilder:

When you sync your One Click Politics data with your NationBuilder Nation, your supporters are synced as People. By setting an Internal Message Name within your message settings, your supporters will be tagged with a Person Tag within NationBuilder during the sync process. This allows you to sort and filter your People by these tags.

If a supporter signs more than one message, rather than duplicate the Person record in NationBuilder we automatically append the existing Person's list of tags with the newly signed message or messages.*

For more information about using tags in NationBuilder, see How to use tags in NationBuilder

*We check for existing records according to the email address used during the signature process. If a supporter uses more than one email address on different messages, our system will not recognize that this is a duplicate.

Account Custom Field in NeonCRM:

When your One Click Politics data is synced with NeonCRM, your message's Internal Message Names are synced as an Account Custom Field. Before you are able to sync with NeonCRM you first need to set up a Custom Field within NeonCRM.

If a supporter signs more than one message, rather than duplicate the Account record in NeonCRM we automatically append the existing Accounts's Custom Field contents with the newly signed message or messages.*

For more information about using the Account Custom Field, see Configuring Custom Fields

*We check for existing records according to the email address used during the signature process. If a supporter uses more than one email address on different messages, our system will not recognize that this is a duplicate.
