Creating Email Blasts

Introduction into using the Email Blast Tool inside OneClickPolitics.

Today we're going to go over the steps to create an email blast campaign. From the dashboard, step one, we'll first navigate over to email blast, which is on the railing on the left-hand side. 

The first step of the process in creating a brand new campaign is to simply click the green button create. We are going to do a campaign for our demonstration here today. We're going to select that. The first step after creating or selecting the type of campaign is to give it a name. We will continue afterwards. We are going to create our email subject. This is the subject line of the email message. We have a preview text that you can utilize as well if you would like for your advocates and your members to have a preview of the email message. That is an option available to you.

Once we have our subject line to our liking, we will hit save. It is going to default to the previous settings as far as who the email comes from. If you would like to make any changes, you can click the edit button to do so. And then we're going to select who are going to receive the messages. So we are going to add our recipients. We can filter through all of the lists and then select the list as appropriate. These are the folks who are going to receive our email. Once we have our subject line, our from, and our to, we are ready to go to the next step, which is simply designing the email.

We're going to click the green button. We have options to utilize templates that we've already used, our past email templates, or to use templates that are already built. If you have HTML templates from a previous email client, you can import those, and you can also do a plain text email. For this one, I am going to use one of our templates, and it's going to give me the options to use templates I've used before

and also the ones that we have already used. So for this instance, I'm going to select one that we've already used here. Now I have full ability to control or edit the template. Everything that you've seen here is editable. So we can change the logos as needed. We can change the box.

We have the ability to do that. We can modify sections, add sections, remove sections. Any customizations you want to have complete control over. Once you're done with all of your modifications,

be sure to include any of the social media links that you would like displayed on the bottom of the email. And just so you know, all of the required unsubscribed links are automatically going to be included in the email, so no action will be required for that. Once we have all of our modifications here and we have a template to our liking, we have the options to send a test email to ourselves so we can get an idea on how that's going to look and feel

on our different mobile devices or our desktop. We can preview the email. This is a great tool at your disposal. We're seeing more and more folks take action on mobile devices, so it's always a good idea to take a look on how it's going to feel on a mobile device

versus a desktop device. And once we have all of that, mobile devices, so it's always a good idea to take a look on how it's going to feel on a mobile device versus a desktop device. And once we have all of that done, and we are happy with our project, we can go ahead and send out said email campaign. Or again, we can prepare to send it. So I'm going to click the button right there. We have options to send the campaign immediately, or we can schedule it for a later date.

For example, if we like it to go out on a particular date and particular time, we have the ability to do that as well. And then we can hit the continue button once we have our date set, and we can set our preview. Once the email is sent, we have the ability to get a notification that we're going to send out to you. And to send out the email to the list of recipients, you are simply going to click the green button, Send Now, and that will send out the campaign to all of the recipients. Thank you.
