One Click Politics is a constituent-based advocacy software, allowing individuals to communicate seamlessly with their respective elected officials. Elected officials want to hear from their constituents and through the One Click solution and its technology, we’re able to match the constituent to their target with a provided street address.
US Congress: Without exception, all advocacy to Congress is done based on constituency.
US States:
- Legislators: All advocacy to state legislator offices is done based on constituency.
- Committees: Organizations targeting state committees/subcommittees can choose to remove the Constituency rule – allowing any advocate to send communication to the Committee member (One Click allows this because decisions made in Committee, will impact the entire state).
City Councils:
Organizations targeting City/County Councils can choose to remove the Constituency rule – allowing any advocate to send communication to the council members.
Custom Targets:
Custom Targets can include anyone not included in the standard One Click database of targets, or you can add an existing hard coded target as a Custom Target for unique scenarios where one may need to bypass the Constituency rule on a state-specific campaign (eg. State Senate President). All that is needed to build a Custom Target is the name and email address of the target. The options for “who” can contact Custom Targets is as follows:
- Local: only allows constituents from a specific city/town to Take Action.
- State: only allows constituents from a specific state to Take Action.
- National: allows constituents from across the country to Take Action.
The OCP Green Flag
When you add state committees, city/county councilmembers or Custom Targets to your campaign with the Constituency Rule ON, One Click allows you to “flag” selected targets with an out-of-constituency exception. Simply click the green flag next to the desired target(s) after adding them to your Campaign.
Please note: We encourage you, as best practice, to keep the Constituency rule toggled ON.
